Big Bang member TaeYang (Dong YongBae) won the number 1 spot for May’s ranking of record sales, proving the success of his solo minialbum.
It was announced on the 16th of June the total volume of record sales for each album in the month of May and TaeYang won with 31,285 albums sold for his first solo minialbum “Hot”.
TaeYang released his solo minialbum last month on 22nd May. In just 9 days, (record sales are totaled till the date of 31st May) TaeYang has occupied the number 1 spot for the record sales in May. This is impressive results considering that TaeYang only have on activity, which is on 31st May on MBC MuCore in the month of May.
Ranked after TaeYang is ShinHwa’s Kim Dong Wan’s 2nd album with total sales of 16,537 copies sold, and following with 3rd place is Epik High with their comeback album of total sales of 16,011 copies, falling off the number 1 spot which they occupied in the month of April with total record sales of 70,238 copies.
Other artistes on the ranking are Super Junior’s first live album with record sales of 15,016 copies on 4th place and SG Wannabe at the 5th position with sales of 11,562 copies of their 5th album ‘La La La’ sold.
